There is a local grower of cranberries in Vermont! (ses http://www.vermontfresh.net/member.php?ID=1150) You can get them at many of the coops and local stores. Cranberry Bob also provides the cranberries to Boyden Valley Winery who makes a delicious cranberry wine of of them - a great option for Thanksgiving libations. |

Ingredients : |
12 ounces fresh cranberries, picked through and rinsed
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup maple syrup or more if you like a sweeter sauce
2 t fresh minced rosemary if you have it...don't use dried
| |
| How to Prepare : |
Bring the cranberries, water, maple syrup, and minced rosemary to a boil in a large saucepan over medium high heat. Reduce the heat and simmer for one minute. (Some berries will have popped and some will remain whole.) Remove from the heat, cover, and let stand until cooled. Put into the serving bowl and cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
This is a great dish to make ahead of time, say on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, and it is one less thing you need to worry about on Thanskgiving day. |
